Tribute to Citto Maselli

Citto Maselli e Valeria Golino

«This tribute maybe means that I gave a little contribution to change this horrible society». Citto Maselli, 90, expressed his gratitude for the tribute that Biennale di Venezia, International Critic’s Week and Venice Days. The great director dedicated this award to «the extraordinary Luchino Visconti that honoured me with his friendship and I also was his assistant director. He taught me that making movies is a great human, social and most of all political responsibility». Maselli has been fully aware of this for his whole life and career: «I’m a communist since I was 14 and I still am». Biennale President Roberto Cicutto said that Maselli «gave substance to an abused slogan: art can change the world».

A rhino in Venice

The Mayor of Rimini, Andrea Gnassi, arrived yesterday at Venice Film Festival with the rhinoceros that symbolizes Fellini Museum di Rimini, a new concept spread museum. The sculpture made of jesmonite depicts the protagonist of some of the most important scenes of  E la nave va.

A park dedicated to Alida Valli at Lido

Now there’s a green area near Casinò Palace of Lido di Venezia dedicated to Alida Valli. A tribute to the legendary Italian actress that this year would have turned 100 and that received Leone d’Oro alla Carriera in 1997.

 

Ad Alice Rohrwacher il premio Robert Bresson 

Roberto Cicutto, Alberto Barbera, Paolo Ruffini attended the award ceremony of Premio Robert Bresson 2021 that Mons. Davide Milani handed to Alice Rohrwacher. The award is given by Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and Rivista del Cinematografo, with the patronage of Pontificio Consiglio della Cultura e del Dicastero per la Comunicazione della Santa Sede and the contribution of Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo del Ministero per la Cultura.

During the ceremony, presented by Tiziana Ferrario intervened Roberto Cicutto (Presidente della Biennale), Alberto Barbera (Direttore della Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia), Paolo Ruffini (Prefetto del Dicastero per la Comunicazione della Santa Sede) and mons. Davide Milani (Presidente della FEdS).

 

Ciak in Mostra in the satire of Gianni Ippoliti

Our Daily is always an iconic ingredient of Venice Film Festival. Gianni Ippoliti used yesterday a fake cover of  Ciak in Mostra to play about Italian news linked to Venezia 78 in his satiric tv press review.
