Imaculat, a different kind of faith

«The movie explores the tension erupting in a closed environment where everything can happen all of a sudden. This is a story about seduction, but not only in a sexual way. It’s the seduction of our own image and we see ourselves in other people eyes», says the director and screenwriter Monica Stan who was inspired by her experiences as a teenager.

After that her addicted boyfriend is sent to jail, 18 years old Daria (Ana Dumitraşcu) is sent by her parent to a rehab clinic to detoxify and turn her in the respectful daughter she once was. While she’s in the clinic the other male patients are impressed by the unshakeable loyalty of the girl to her boyfriend and this commitment saves her from their sexual attention and this situation makes her feel desired and protected. But the arrival of a mysterious patient will challenge her faith.

The movie has been shot in Bucarest in four weeks between October and November 2019 with a budget of € 520.000.
