Imaculat wins GdA Director’s Award

Imaculat by Monica Stan and George Chiper-Lillemark wins GdA Director’s Award 2021, 20.000 euro (half for the director, half for the international seller to support the distribution of the movie). The award is assigned by the jury 27 Times Cinema composed by young representatives of each country of the EU and chaired by directors Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova.

An important award for the movie inspired by the biography of co-director Stan that tells the story of young Daria, a guest of a rehab centre.

According to Venice Days, Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova have chosen to give a special mention to the movie Shen Kong by Chen Guan because «humour, freshness, bravery and the absence of artistic boundaries rarely cohabit in art-house cinema. This movie evokes philosophical thoughts about loneliness, isolation, love, tenderness and the meaning of life. We wish Chen Guan not to lose this inner artistic freedom that can’t be censored».

The BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas Audience Award went to Deserto particular by Aly Muritiba. Californie screenwriters Alessandro Cassigoli, Casey Kauffman and Vanessa Picciarelli have instead obtained the BNL contribution of 2,000 euros for the quality of the work, courage, personal path, outlook on the world, ability to construe the present, originality writing.
