Mondocane: welcome to the dystopian Taranto

«coming of age looking at the news in a surreal way»: this is Mondocane for rookie director Alessandro Celli. Mondocane is produced by Matteo Rovere’s Groenlandia with Minerva Pictures and Rai Cinema. The film is set in a dystopic Taranto partially evacuated because of pollution. The city is forbidden and inhabited by few underdogs struggling for survival. Among them, there are two 13years old, Pietro aka Mondocane and Christian aka Pisciasotto. They are both trying in the Ants, the gang led by Testacalda (Alessandro Borghi). Barbara Ronchi is also in the cast. Mondocane has its world premiere at the International Critic’s Week and the screening is paired with the short film Luna piena by Isabella Torre.
