The demons of Iran: Zalava comes to Lido

It’s time for Iranian cinema at the International Critic’s Week. 1978: Zalava is the name of the village where, right before the revolution that established the regime of ayatollah, is send a young sergeant to investigate a strange case. The people of the village think that there’s a demon among them. Zalava is a ghost story focus on the superstition that feed the religious fundamentalist. The movie is shot in Iranian Kurdistan and is directed by Arsalan Amiri, co-writer of Ida Panahandeh, the director of Nahid (2015). Before the movie will be screened the short film in competition L’incanto by Chiara Caterina.
