36th International Critic’s Week looks at the past and comes back to 1492. Eles transportan a morte (They Carry Death) is directed by Helena Girón and Samuel M. Delgado and is in competition. 1492 is a turning point in human history, the year when was discovered the continent defined by Europeans “The New World”. The story of They Carry Death follows three fugitives embarking on Colombo’s caravels trying to avoid a certain death. In the “Old Continent” a woman brings her sister to a healer in the extreme attempt to save her life. Before They Carry Death will be screened the short film in competition Eva by Rossella Inglese.
