8 p.m. Campari Boat IN: Special celebration of the 20th anniversary of the film Le fate ignoranti, directed by Ferzan Özpetek. A big party in which the original cast of the film, represented by Stefano Accorsi, will meet the cast of the new TV series of the same name represented by Cristiana Capotondi and Ambra Angiolini. There will also be screenings of the short films Chiusi Fuori – directed by Giorgio Testi and with a cast including Stefano Accorsi and Colin Firth – and Le Voisin De Lou, directed by Victoria Lafaurie and Hector Albouker.
7.30 p.m. Hollywood Celebrities Lounge: Award ceremony for the Social World Film Festival. Award to Pappo e Bucco by Antonio Losito in the presence of the director and producer Pasquale Cossu.
9 p.m. Marina di Sant’Elena – Cinema Sant’Elena: Screening of the documentary La strada dei salmoni by Stefano Savona with animation by Simone Massi. The work, produced by Luca Rossi for Dugong Films, won the L’Oeil d’Or award for best documentary at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
Django, Corbucci (and Tarantino) come to Venice
Django&Django – Sergio Corbucci Unchained is a documentary dedicated to the Italian director. Quentin Tarantino is the special guest of the movie. The American director gave tribute to the director of Django (1966) with his movie Django Unchained. The documentary is an idea of the producer Nicoletta Ercole, costume designer for many movies and directors, and is directed by Luca Rea with co-writer and film critic Steve Della Casa. «This is not a standard interview», says Rea about Tarantino: «ièit was prepared by e-mail in the previous weeks, we shot with a script». The documentary «is like a cake with many layers». There are never seen footage from Corbucci’s set, interviews with Franco Nero and Ruggero Deodato, music by Andrea Guerra, the editing by Stuart Mabey. A nice way to rediscovered Corbucci again that was «total creative», with an actual «sixth sense for the world around him».
