The closing movie out of competition of International Critic’s Week is «a feminist road movie crossed by flashes of lightning of unexpected magic», quoting the words of SIC Director Beatrice Fiorentino. Yasmine Benkiran’s Queens (Malikates) is set in Casablanca and centres around three women on the run from the police. «This is a hymn for all the cinematic heroines of all times», continues Fiorentino, «that behind the bulk lightness takes a position for a more fair and inclusive society». SIC@SIC, the short program International Critic’s Week, closes with the film out of competition Happy Birthday by Giorgio Ferrero.
