Tomorrow, at 7 p.m. in Sala Astra 2, is the last chance to enjoy a preview at the Venice Film Festival of Sergio Rubini’s miniseries Leopardi – The Poet of Infinity, produced by RaiCom. The series is included in the Official Selection out of competition and will be broadcast on Raiuno on 16 and 17 December. The story of one of the greatest poets of our literature is set in the Marche, Rome and Naples, but it also contains vast ‘portions’ of Apulia. The support from the Apulia Film Fund of the Apulia Film Commission made it possible to recreate some sequences set in Naples in old Taranto and Martina Franca. The residence of Antonio Ranieri, Leopardi’s friend, was reconstructed in the Museo Civico Romanazzi Carducci in Putignano (Bari). Some scenes were filmed on the beach of Vignanotica (Foggia), and two typographies located in Florence and Milan were reconstructed in the Tipografia Portoghese in Altamura (Bari). The operation is realised as part of the Promuovere il Cinema 2024 project, financed by the Apulia Region and realised by the Apulia Film Commission Foundation. Leopardi – The Poet of Infinity stars Leonardo Maltese, Cristiano Caccamo, Giusy Buscemi, Valentina Cervi, Fausto Russo Alesi, Bruno Orlando, Serena Iansiti, Maria Vittoria Dallasta, Andrea Pennacchi, Roberta Lista, Alessandro Preziosi, Alessio Boni.
