It was a “salute to the Venice Film Festival” in a super-exclusive setting, among the stucco and brocades of one of the halls of honor of the Hotel Gritti, in Venice, that wanted by Ciak to celebrate Venice 81 under the banner of elegance and guests from the world of cinema. Not even the rain managed to disturb the party, organized with the collaboration of Cartier, Ploom, Banca Ifis, Venini and San Benedetto, which was also the occasion to present four Ciak d’oro to four absolute protagonists of Italian and international cinema. Starting with Giuseppe Tornatore, who was finally awarded the Ciak d’oro Classic for the success of Ennio, his documentary dedicated to Ennio Morricone that hit theaters last year. Margherita Buy, on the other hand, received the Ciak d’oro Classic 2024 for her (new career) on the back of the extraordinary quality of her latest performances, from Esterno notte to Dieci minuti, and her debut as a director in the successful Volare. There were two winners of the Ciak d’oro Revelation at the Venice Film Festival, established last year to celebrate precisely our talent that comes to the fore at the most important film event of the year. Pietro Castellitto received the one, not yet handed out, from Venice 80 for his direction and interpretation of Enea, by the way reaffirmed here at Venice 81 by his extraordinary acting performance in Diva Futura by Giulia Steigerwalt.
To Romana Maggiora Vergano, on the other hand, went that of Venice 81, for her superb, mature performance in Francesca Comencini‘s Il tempo che ci vuole in which she stars alongside Fabrizio Gifuni. The young Roman performer, cast by Paola Cortellesi in C’è ancora domani, appeared visibly emotional when she was awarded the Golden Ciak. The winners were also presented with a precious designer vase offered by Venini. Conducting the evening was Ciak editor Flavio Natalia, with Selene Caramazza, the young Sicilian actress whose big-screen debut in Pure Hearts was greeted by a flurry of international awards and whom generalist TV audiences will see in a few weeks on Raidue in the first season of The Bad Guy (the second is coming to Prime Video by fall). Among the guests were top executives from the film world, actors, actresses, influencers, journalists, and leading figures from the world of communication. One name among all, that of supermodel Bar Refaeli. For all, in addition to the moment of the award ceremony, the view of Venice at night ranged from the dome of St. Mark’s to Giudecca, along the Grand Canal, amid cocktails and chatter in the absolute elegance of Cartier.
