A crowd of stars yesterday at Excelsior for award ceremony Filming Italy Best Movie Award, the award to Italian cinema created by Tiziana Rocca and Vito Sinopoli. Pierfrancesco Favino won the award for Best Drama Actor for his performance in Hammamet by Gianni Amelio. Giuseppe Tornatore. Won the Masters of Cinema Award. Among the winners Claudia Gerini, Alessio Boni, Francesco Di Leva, Angela Finocchiaro La casa de papiel star Pedro Alonso. patroness of the event was Rocío Muñoz Morales, Annabelle Belmondo handed over the awards.

After The Hollywood Reporter, New York Times gave its appreciation to this year’s Mostra del Cinema. The American newspaper consideres «comfortable» the experience of soical distanced theatres. «There’s room to relax, no one feel guilty monopolizing the armrest and legs can be voluptuously stretched», comments NYT underlining that the collective experience of the big screen is quite the same «just with more personal space». It is also emphasized using face masks during the screening.
Princess Europe: Levy’s magnificent obsession
Special Event out of competition at Venezia 77, Princess Europe is the documentary that tells the story of the journey made by controversial French philosopher and writer Bernard-Henri Levy, 71, across Europe between March and May 2019 (during European electioon campaign) with the piece Looking for Europe. Levy questions himself about the founding values of Old Continent hoping to find the cultural roots able to lift Europe from the flood of populism and nationalism. Levy is «obsessed» by Europe, says the director Camille Lotteau, he wants to give back human, social an politica landscape from migrants to politicians. A journey in and out the performance rediscovering diversities, unsolve problems and possible comeback ferment of Europe in one of her most difficult period in history.

«If it looks like a cemetery, we must celebrate a funeral. But it must be a vital funeral!»: Alice Rohrwacher presents out of competition her short film Omelia contadina, realized with the French artisti (and friend) JR, to celebrate a dissolving world, rural Italy of Alfina highland across Lazio, Umbria e Toscana. A landscape and culture phagocyted by intensive single-crop farming extending for endless lanes that make the land look like a funeral scenery. The solution is the rite of countryside community, a «cinematic act» (Rohrwacher describes her movie this way), a new short circuit of ages and worlds out of their time from the director of Corpo celeste, Le meraviglie and Lazzaro felice. Hoping that from the funeral is born a «Hymn of hope di speranza» to a human landscape taht continues by all means to state its right to be in the wild river of modernity.

Rai has intensified the coverage for Venezia 77. Starting from the updates on Tg1 during the morning show UnoMattina to 4.30 pm news. Tg2 has a daily broadcast on lunch news at 1 pm and regular updates at 12, 2 and 7 pm and during the night news emission Linea Notte. RaiNews is covering with five daily updates and all the news of the day. TGR Veneto is live in its two tv edition and also on the radio channel. Radio Rai does the same with its correspondants and many programs. Last but not least raimovie.rai.it streams all the press conferences, tv call, red carpet, photocall and special awards ceremony.
