Opening night with President Mattarella
Rai Movie will broadcast live, starting at 7 p.m., the opening night of Venice78, which will be hosted by Serena Rossi in the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema, starting at 7 p.m. It will also be possible to follow it live on the official website of the Venice Biennale www.labiennale.org and on the official Facebook (La Biennale di Venezia) and YouTube (BiennaleChannel) accounts.
The evening will be attended by the President Sergio Mattarella and the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini. The complete international juries will be present in the hall. During the evening will take place the delivery of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to the director and actor Roberto Benigni.
The Biennale, as already announced, confirms the decision not to organize this year the traditional gala dinner at the opening of the 78. Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica, on Wednesday September 1st at the Venice Lido, certain of the sharing by all of a tone of sobriety and prudence.

4.30 p.m. WEB: On the priceless.com website and on Mastercard’s youtube channel the first appointment with “See life through a different lens: contactless connections – Exploring the power of cinema to connect us”. Today’s guest Robin Wright.
9.00 p.m. Marina Sant’Elena, Campo della Chiesa Venezia: First appointment for an unprecedented out-of-festival that will be parallel to the Film Festival. Tonight an evening dedicated to ecology: “Venice for the sea, Venice for the earth” with writers and experts.
