The cinema of tomorrow at the (new) SIC

Three Nights a Week officially opens the 37th International Critic’s Week dedicated to Mantas Kvedaravičius, the Lithuanian director killed in Mariupol during the Ukrainian war. The birth of a physic space, the  House of the Critics is a fundamental step in this direction. And then there are the movies. Ten feature films (7 in competition, 2 out of competition and a special screening) that, Fiorentino explains, not only refer to «the struggle for a more equal, fair and inclusive world» and the regaining of space and human contacts after the restrictions due to Covid but also to the problematic reconfiguration of identities (of gender and not only) in the contemporary world. We’ll discover how in the movies that we will watch in the next eight days: Margini by Niccolò Falsetti, Beating Sun (Tant que le soleil frappe) by Philippe Petit, Eismayer by David Wagner, Skin Deep by Alex Schaad, Dogborn by Isabella Carbonell, Anhell69 by Theo Montoya, Have You Seen This Woman? (Da li ste videli ovu ženu?) by Dušan Zorić and Matija Gluščević and the closing film out of competition Queens (Malikates), by Yasmine Benkiran.
