“Mrs. America” premiere with Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett has been the great protagonist of Venice 77, also with her new TV miniseries, Mrs. America. The pilot was shown at Boat-In Cinema Campari. The Australian actress, President of the Jury of Venezia 77, attended the event that was introduced by Piera Detassis, President of David di Donatello. Alberto Barbera, Artistic Director of Mostra del cinema di Venezia, also joined the event. The event was live streamed with Rome’s Floating Theatre.

The Disney-FX miniseries (nominated for several Emmy awards, including best female performance by Miss Blanchett) was created by Dahvi Waller (former Mad Men producer) takes us back to the 1970s feminist movement in the United States. Blanchett (also executive producer) plays conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, who opposed the approval of the Equal Rights Amendment.
