The meaning of Luca Guadagnino‘s new challenge is reflected in the words of Salvatore Ferragamo‘s autobiography, which brings his foray into the documentary genre with Salvatore – Shoemaker of dreams, produced by Francesco Melzi D’Eril and Gabriele Moratti to Venice out of competition, and which will be distributed worldwide by Sony.
The challenge is how to handle, without betraying it, the story of a man who created a success that has become a legend and who has never succumbed to the idea of becoming a public person. There quite expectation to understand how the director of Call me by your name managed to compose, through images and interviews , a faithful portrait of Salvatore Ferragamo’s life merged with the personal reinterpretation of a man that represents a piece Italian fashion and society history respect his powerful simplicity.
