Tonight Salvatore – Shoemaker of dreams, Luca Guadagnino reinterprets the legend of the shoemaker of dreams

«This is my life’s job: tailoring perfect shoes. I don’t to put my name on those that are not. So please, beyond the barefoot and ignorant kid who has become a famous shoemaker, focus your attention on the pleasure that comes from walking well». The meaning of Luca Guadagnino‘s new challenge is reflected in the words of Salvatore Ferragamo‘s autobiography, which brings his foray into the documentary genre with Salvatore – Shoemaker of dreams, produced by Francesco Melzi D’Eril and Gabriele Moratti to Venice out of competition, and which will be distributed worldwide by Sony.

The challenge is how to handle, without betraying it, the story of a man who created a success that has become a legend and who has never succumbed to the idea of becoming a public person. There quite  expectation to understand how the director of Call me by your name managed to compose, through images and interviews , a faithful portrait of Salvatore Ferragamo’s life merged with the personal reinterpretation of a man that represents a piece Italian fashion and society history respect his powerful simplicity. Because the revolutionary formula of the art of the Shoemaker of dreams lies in the understanding that perfect shoes are those that make a woman feel at ease and know how to make her dream. A beauty made of substance, mastery, history and soul. Tonight «Shoes wide on the inside and narrow on the outside», Totò used to joke about.

The premiere of Salvatore – Shoemaker of dreams is scheduled for today at 13.45 in the Sala Grande.
