Space Beyond, Luca Parmitano brings us in the space

“Space Beyond″, the documentary film dedicated to the Sicilian astronaut Luca Parmitano, opens the series of screenings of Cinema and Sicily in collaboration with the Sicily Film Commission and Fondazione Taormina Arte.

Directed by Francesco Cannavà and co-written with Fabio Fagone, “Space Beyond” is the biographical story, in the form of a logbook, of ESA “Beyond” mission carried out by Parmitano, which is Colonel Pilot of the Italian Air Force and the first Italian commander of the International Space Station. Six months of mission on the ISS enclosed in 82 minutes of film, with unpublished and exclusive images of scientific experiments and extra-vehicular activities carried out during the stay on board.

“The limit? You pick the limit. We choose it as humanity, as scientists and explorers. The moment we choose it we have a goal to overcome, then it’s up to us to put all the means necessary to overcome it. For me the term “beyond” is a container where we put inside both the limit and the means to overcome this limit,” said Luca Parmitano, who will also greet the audience of Taormina Film Fest with a special video message.
