Nella notte tra lunedì e martedì si è svolta la 74ª edizione della cerimonia di premiazione dei Primetime Emmy Awards, assegnati dalla Television Academy alle serie e i protagonisti della stagione. A farla da padroni, Succession di Hbo, miglior serie drammatica e Ted Lasso di Apple Tv, miglior serie comica.
Successo anche per Squid Game: la serie Netflix porta a casa il premio per il miglior attore drammatico, Lee Jung-jae, che diventa il primo a recitare in una lingua che non fosse l’inglese riconosciuto in quella categoria, mentre Hwang Dong-hyuk vince l’Emmy per la regia dell’episodio Red Light, Green Light. Jason Sudeikis e Brett Goldstein bissano i premi come Miglior attore protagonista e Migliore attore non protagonista in una serie comica per le loro interpretazioni in Ted Lasso.
