Oscar 2023, e venne il giorno delle nomination in un anno che si preannuncia ricco di sorprese, come già hanno dimostrato i premi già assegnati e quelli che arriveranno. E mentre aspettiamo la lista completa dall’Academy, facciamo un rapido ripasso di quanto accaduto fino adesso.

Al momento il favorito per le nomination agli Oscar 2023 secondo i bookmakers e gli esperti è Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, il folle film dei The Daniels, con protagonista Michelle Yeoh, che contenderà la statuetta come migliore attrice a Cate Blanchett, già Coppa Volpi a Venezia per la sua interpretazione in Tàr.
The Fabelmans segue a un’incollatura, insieme a Gli spiriti dell’isola, mentre crescono le quotazioni, dopo le 14 nomination ai BAFTA di Niente di nuovo sul fronte occidentale, il kolossal bellico/pacifista tedesco targato Netflix.
Tra le possibili sorprese, attenzione ad Andrea Riseborough che potrebbe entrare nella cinquina come miglior attrice per il film To Leslie, e se dovesse accadere potrebbe essere la grande outsider per la vittoria finale.
Sembra invece avere superato tutti Brendan Fraser, che grazie alla sua toccante interpretazione di The Whale è tornato nella Hollywood che conta, grazie anche a una campagna da Oscar molto intelligente, dal rifiuto alla partecipazione ai Golden Globes alle apparizioni a sorpresa come quella a Londra pochi giorni fa alla fine di una proiezione de La Mummia.

Anche in questa categoria ci potrebbe essere un inserimento che potrebbe scombinare le carte, quello di Paul Mescal per Aftersun. Il giovane attore irlandese oltretutto è stato scelto da Ridley Scott come protagonista de Il Gladiatore 2 e una nomination, e magari una statuetta, alzerebbero ulteriormente le sue quotazioni in sede contrattuale.

Soprattutto, non dimentichiamo la sorpresa dell’anno scorso con Coda, che proprio dopo le nomination nel giro di poche settimane ha sovvertito tutti i pronostici. E Aftersun potrebbe fare lo stesso percorso
