Presentata da Vanessa Hudgens e Tayshia Adams al Barker Hanger di Santa Monica, la cerimonia degli MTV Movie and TV Awards ha assegnato i premi al meglio del cinema e della televisione insieme dell’anno. La coppia, nella vita e sul set, formata da Tom Holland e Zendaya ha vinto grazie alle loro interpretazioni rispettivamente in Spider-Man: No Way Home e Euphoria.
Il film Marvel e la serie HBO sono stati riconosciuti anche quali miglior lungometraggio e miglior programma dell’anno. Scarlett Johansson ha vinto il premio come miglior eroe per il suo ruolo di Black Widow, mentre Daniel Radcliffe ha portato a casa il premio come miglior cattivo per la sua interpretazione in The Lost City.
Jack Black ha ricevuto il premio Comedic Genius e Jennifer Lopez il Generation Award, che, secondo MTV, celebra “attori amati i cui diversi contributi sia al cinema che alla televisione li hanno trasformati in nomi familiari”. In un discorso emozionante la cantante ha ringraziato i suoi figli, le persone che le hanno dato gioia e il suo manager Benny Medina. Lopez si è aggiudicata anche il premio per la migliore canzone per “On My Way (Marry Me)”.
