Tecla Insolia and Martina Scrinzi wins new IMAIE

Two promising actresses won the Nuovo IMAIE Talent Award yesterday, a collateral prize of the Venice Film Festival: Tecla Insolia for Familia (Orizzonti) and Martina Scrinzi for Vermiglio (Concorso). They were selected by the SNGCI and SNCCI, chaired respectively by Laura Delli Colli and Cristiana Paternò. Godmother of this edition of the awards, the tenth, was Teresa Saponangelo, who prepared a short speech on the fundamental function of the IMAIE. ‘Between one job and another,’ said the actress, ‘actors sometimes feel abandoned and can fall into depression, can have doubts about their abilities. So, thanks to Imaie, we can occupy the time between productions by studying English, dance, and music and preparing ourselves for a new role‘. Tecla Insolia, who is also a singer and has participated in Sanremo, is instead convinced that acting could be her life choice. ‘I am only 20 years old,’ said one of the stars of Familia, ‘I am concentrating on the discipline of acting. It is something that makes me free‘. Martina Scrinzi was already coming home. ‘They called me that I was almost on dry land,‘ said the actress,’ and I returned to the Lido. This award is a surprise for me. Thank you all!”

Following last year’s resounding success, the NUOVO IMAIE VENICE AWARD gala dinner was once again a glittering affair. Organised in collaboration with Agnus Dei Tiziana Rocca Production, the event took place at the stunning Terrazza Biennale and was graced by iconic personalities from the world of cinema, TV, culture, and institutions. The evening was a celebration of talent and achievement, a testament to the glamour and allure of the film industry.

During the event, the NUOVO IMAIE presented the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award to Nancy Brilli, Christian De Sica, and Michele Placido. This award, a luminous sculpture that echoes the collecting’s logo, was specially designed and created for the occasion by maestro Marco Lodola in his unmistakable pop and neo-futuristic style. The evening was a tribute to their significant contributions to the art and culture of film and theatre. The event was further enriched by other important recognitions and participations, including Francesco Apolloni, Dolcenera, Chiara Francini, and Giampaolo Morelli, as well as the two young artists who won the NEW IMAIE TALENT AWARD 2024.

Our collecting society continues to play a leading role in the cultural industry and the world of entertainment,’ said NUOVO IMAIE president Andrea Miccichè,’ and is an authoritative voice that has always been at the forefront in protecting the rights of Performing Artists of Music and Audiovisual. After having signed agreements with all the leading platforms on the market to guarantee remuneration to the Artists we represent, our next goal is to address and resolve decisively, with the appropriate means, the issue of the exploitation of the multitude of musical and audiovisual content, often taken from films and series, on the web and social networks; content on which platforms monetise significant revenues without, to date, due and fair compensation being recognised to the Artists who are the soul of that content. We will continue to monitor the correct use and the necessary regulatory supervision of Artificial Intelligence, which risks becoming a danger for the entire creative sector, and in particular for the category of voice actors who are part of the 1.2 million artists that the NUOVO IMAIE is proud to represent and protect in Italy’.
