The second British feature film in competition at International Critics Week is Sky Peals, Moin Hussain’s debut feature, which centres on Adam, who leads a lonely life working nights at a gas station. Learning of his father’s death, of whom he had lost track years before, Adam seeks to discover the truth about his parent, who had the bizarre belief of not being human. The protagonist’s journey, anticipates SIC General Delegate Beatrice Fiorentino, will open “signs and spaces to be deciphered to reach a new awareness and to build a unique identity of one’s own.” It is also the day of It Isn’t So by Fabrizio Paterniti Martello, competing for SIC@SIC.
