world premiere
Id., USA, 2024. Directed by Michael Premo. Running time 1h 49′.
‘On the eve of the 2024 US elections, a film that goes beyond ideologies and taboos uncovers in all its evidence the schizophrenia of the present and the state of crisis of modern democracies’. This is how General Delegate and Artistic Director of the International Critics’ Week, Beatrice Fiorentino, describes Homegrown by Michael Premo. The film tells the story of how the award-winning journalist, director and author infiltrated the US far-right movement following three activists campaigning for Donald Trump’s re-election at the 2020 polls, which will be won by Joe Biden, leading to the storming of Capitol Hill by the tycoon’s supporters. The SIC@SIC competition continues with the short film Playing God by Matteo Burani.
